Here's my tag for the
12th CC3 Challenge sponsored by
the Funkie Junkie Boutique and using page 41's technique: "Distress Photo Tinting". I used a vintage photo postcard from my friend Trishia of
French Kissed Postcards and added subtle color in just a couple spots - I always liked that look with hand tinted vintage photos. My collage was completed with a text scrap from an old French novel, a couple postage stamps and text cut from a Silhouette. I added billowing seam binding as the tag's tie to repeat the idea of them waving their hankies.
My background tag is embossed first with a folder (done twice in different directions because it's one of the really big tags) and then dipped into Distress Ink puddles using the classic "wrinkle-free distress" technique. I love how you get cool puddles because the tag is textured first.
Here's a final close-up:

Oh My Goodness! I LOVE this! This is such an excellent example of distress photo tinting! GREAT JOB! I so love your choice of photographs and how you've used this technique to highlight the little girl's hat and dress dress and the flowers on her mother's hat as well. The pink stamp you've added to the photograph really is perfect, too. It so coordinates with the tinting that you've done and really sets it apart. Love the embossed background behind your black matted photograph. This is really really a nice piece! Thanks for sharing your art with all of us at CC3C. <3 Candy
