Random ATC's

I sat down to play with collage sheets, scraps of paper and a glue stick and had fun creating a bunch of ATC's and these 3 were my favorites. I had a few goals: to keep things simple and flat, to use a neutral palette with an accent color, and to think about composition.

I thought she had a dreamy look (maybe thinking of her one true love?) so I placed her on a postcard and used a stamp with a man's image behind her head as she's dreaming of him.

This was a tall woman, so she needed a vertical background, and I added strips of paper to a scrap of handwritten text.

And finally Cléo de Mérode, the turn of the century French dancer - in this picture she's facing to the left, so I added my cut out flowers and butterfly on the left - and yes, I really did cut out around those tiny flowers; I like the way they look and don't mind the time it takes. I only mind if my scissors slip and I mistakenly cut off a blossom!

Ugh, I really do NOT like fussy cutting, but my daughter does, and will take things out of my hands and finish them for me! Yay!

Your atcs turned out so lovely; it can be such a challenge to keep things flat, but you achieved some wonderful dimension with your shading!

So good to see you creating.
It has been sometime since I made any ATCs (not since having a Blog) and have not missed making them as for too long I made so many. Then I see your trio and it makes me want to have a play with this dimension.
The composition is wonderful and love the choice of colours, or should that be lack of colour, that look of old pages, slightly winter white, slightly yellow.
