Compendium of Curosities Vol. 3 Challenge Week No. 8

This is my project using the "Faded Layers" technique from page 58 of Tim Holtz's book for the 8th CC3C sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique.  I chose to illustrate this phrase and highlighted certain words by using my paper made with the technique and freehand cutting block letters from it. Yes, I know there are plenty of dies I could use, but I enjoy cutting out my own font sometimes ;-)
The black background of my page really lets the colors pop (I used the newer botanical alcohol inks which have fabulous bright colors) and did the rest of the lettering with a white gel pen.

Here are a couple close-ups of the big letters - the technique gives such a great pattern !

Your card is awesome! Tell me that you did not do the white lettering yourself! If you did, I'm sooo jealous! That looks fabulous! I also really like your idea of cutting your own block letters using the faded layers technique for the letters. They really DO pop against the black background. Great ideas! Thanks for joining us at CC3C. <3 Candy

I was just thinking "she can't have done that white lettering herself" and I see our Candy has also had the same thought... I bet you did din't you? GREAT card, love it and such an innovative way to use the technique background pieces you created... Thanks for playing along with the CC3 Challenge and hope to see you again soon x

I love the colors against the black. I obviously need to get some of those AIs in my stash. Brilliant of you to use your own font as well. Sometimes that's just the way to go, isn't it? Love this!
