Compendium of Curiosities Vol.3 Challenge Week No. 2

Here's my tag for the CC3C challenge - this time it's sponsored by the Funkie Junkie Boutique and uses the distress glitter technique following page 56 of Tim Holtz's book.  My tag started with drawing a face with a Stabilo pencil on a big #10 tag and adding subtle coloring with Golden high flow acrylics. After masking her, I used a Prima flower stencil to monoprint the background using distress ink and spritzes of water. I also did some random stamping with a she art text stamp (Unity) - I love the added visual texture of the stamping. The distress glitter is used in the swirl pattern down the side.

Your tag is very pretty. Love the sketched face and then how you masked it off to create the background behind her. Thanks for joining us at CC3C. <3 Candy

Your tag is gorgeous and I love your girl, she is so delicate.

I have a question about your sentiment. It looks like it has a drop shadow like you would put on a image in Photoshop. How did you achieve that on your tag?

What an awesome drawing! I love the vibrant color and the sentiment, and the glitter is fabulous! Thank you so much for playing along with us at CC3Challenge!!!

To answer Sande's question - it's simply a shadow done on the left sides and undersides of the letter using a graphite pencil and blending it out with a paper stump - fun (and easy) to do!

She has a determined look to her so the words could not be more perfect.
I like how you masked her.
