Another exceptionally good online class is one called "Letter Love 101" by Joanne Sharpe. She ran the class throughout the 29 days of February with a new lesson each day. (It is an ongoing self-paced class, so even though it's no longer February, you can still join in and have all of it available to you.) I love playing around with hand lettering and this class was a fantastic one for giving you a lot of ideas so that you can create your own embellished alphabets. I loved her motto for the class - Play, Practice, Write, Repeat.
Aside from learning lettering skills, another part of the class I loved was creating a colorful journal for backgrounds for all your newly developed lettering skills. This is the pile of papers I created using Adirondack colorwash, water and stencils
Here is the cover of my journal.
This is a close up of what I thought was one of the coolest parts of the background paper I chose for the cover. Colorwash is very reactive with water, and the flowers were created by spraying just plain water through a flower stencil creating a ghost effect. I loved this!
Here's my fun inky journal opened and with a mix of pages all ready for some hand lettering!

Hi Penny
Catching up on your wonderful posts.
Incredibly vibrancy to your pages and as for the calligraphy, beautiful. This course seems very appealing.
