This weekend I played around with some resist techniques for backgrounds and made a bunch of cards. The first is a gesso stamped swirl and distress ink rubbed over the paper with cut and dry foam.
Next, was another gesso resist but this time the distress ink was applied using the wrinkle free distress technique.
Same wrinkle free distress technique but the resist is a stamped image with versamark and clear embossing powder.
This one uses the clear embossing powder technique again, but I stamped over newsprint then brayered over the piece with black versafine.
Finally, I tried the same technique but using a page from a book and brayered over it with brown versafine. Kind of neat how you can still read the text through the brown ink. This one I made into a thank you card because I needed something to send out!
Another "numbers" theme this week, this time at Sunday Postcard Art. I decided to use a bunch of numbers instead of just one: ledger paper, rulers, gaffer tape, beads, and metal letters. The image is from Lisa's Altered Art and the stamp used is from My Tattered Angels.

This cute girl for this week's Art Creations Friday challenge is also an image from Gaby Braun. I layered her over a big Heidi Swapp flower embellished with a flourish stamp from Crafty Individuals.

I acquired these mini hangers from Stampington and thought this week's challenge at Wednesday Stamper would be a fun way to use one. My mixed media piece uses Claudine Hellmuth's sticky back canvas and her multi-medium stamped resist technique. I used watercolor crayons for the background and watercolor pencils on the stamped image. Stamp credits: Making Memories foam stamp, Club Scrap, and Purple Onion Designs.

This is my house for Dans ma maison il y a... My photo is kind of angled to be able to show the stars that are stickles on acetate. I used the stickles as a glue to attach them to the distress ink background. Tree stamp is from Posh Impressions.
This week for Art Creations Friday a beautiful background from Wil is to be used in the challenge. I just love the canvases she paints - such wonderful texture!!! When I first looked at the background, sections made me think of feathers so I wanted to do a bird collage - of course I covered up the "feathery" texture section with the collage, but it was my inspiration! Stamp credits: Crafty Individuals, Prickley Pear and Technique Tuesday.
This is my ATC for Theme Thursday. The collage sheet image is from Collage Visions and the car stamp is from Oxford Impressions.
Since it's Mother's Day, I thought this week's Art Creations Friday image would make a beautiful card on that theme. Love you Mom - and have a happy Mother's Day!!
